Karla came to Aviva’s Wallis House with her young daughter, Maggie, in 2020. While they were living at the Wallis House, Karla was attending nursing school and was granted a scholarship.
After about a year, Karla received all the support and resources she needed, and was able to move out of Wallis House with her daughter. Karla and Maggie moved into their own apartment and Karla continued to go to school.
Both Karla and Maggie are doing great. Karla continues to go to school but has changed majors and was recently accepted to UCLA! She is now studying to become a doctor.
