Aviva Family and Children’s Services Announces Amber Rivas
as President and Chief Executive Officer

LOS ANGELES, December 20, 2022 – Aviva Family and Children’s Services, a social services agency providing foster care and adoption, supportive housing for women and children, community mental health and crisis intervention services in Los Angeles County, today announced that Amber Rivas has been named President and Chief Executive Officer, effective January 3, 2023. 

Rivas has more than 17 years of experience at St. Anne’s Family Services in Los Angeles, most recently serving as Chief Operating Officer.  While at St. Anne’s, Rivas led a number of significant achievements, including opening a new permanent supportive housing complex, transitioning their group home to a short-term residential therapeutic program, and expansion of Early Head Start services at two new early learning centers in the city of Lynwood, all while managing the daily operations of the organization.

“For more than 100 years, Aviva Family and Children’s Services has grown and changed to meet the needs of our community’s most vulnerable residents,” said Jonathan Werner, chair of Aviva’s Board of Directors. “Amber Rivas’s extensive experience and deep understanding of the environment facing organizations like Aviva today will help us continue our mission of serving our Los Angeles community.”

Amber holds a master’s in social work from the University of Southern California and a bachelor’s degree from Pepperdine University.
