Aviva Family and Children’s Services is committed to ensuring that our website, aviva.org, is accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. Lifting people up is our mission, and that includes how we communicate online.
Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for making web content more accessible to people with disabilities. Aviva.org is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA: all pages and posts that we author and control conform, while some third-party content described below does not yet fully conform.
The site’s own content was audited and remediated in July 2026 and is verified against WCAG 2.1 AA using automated testing, keyboard-only testing, and screen reader testing.
What we have done
- Rebuilt the site navigation so it works fully by keyboard, touch, and screen reader.
- Retuned the site’s color palette so all text meets contrast requirements.
- Restored a logical heading structure, page landmarks, and a skip-to-content link on every page.
- Added written descriptions to meaningful images, labels to form fields, and titles to embedded frames.
- Established periodic re-testing so new content is checked against the same standard.
Known limitations
Some parts of the site come from outside providers, and a few document types are still being improved. We are following up with the providers. In the meantime, here is what to do if one of these gets in your way. Every alternative below reaches a real person.
Can’t complete the email signup or volunteer form?
Those forms are supplied by an outside service and may not announce every field correctly to screen readers. Skip the form: email or call us using the contacts under Feedback below, and we will take your information directly.
Need an accommodation to apply for a job?
Our job application pages are provided by an outside applicant tracking service. Email our Human Resources team at HR_Team@aviva.org or call the main office, and we will arrange an accessible way to apply.
Can’t read or fill out a PDF document?
Some PDF documents, particularly older reports and financial disclosures, may not be fully readable with assistive technology. For mental health referrals you can skip the referral form entirely: email intake@aviva.org or call 213-637-5000 and our intake team will help you directly. For any other document, ask us and we will provide it in a format that works for you.
Missing or unclear captions on a video?
We are reviewing and improving the captions on our older videos. Tell us which video, and we will prioritize it.
Trouble using the site in Spanish?
The Spanish version of the site is machine translated (the ES switcher at the top of every page), and a translation can occasionally be unclear. Contact us and we will help you find the information you need.
Can’t find the right program or person?
Our Contact Us page lists every office and department. If you are not sure where to start, call the main office at 323-876-0550 or email info@aviva.org.
Something else not working with your assistive technology?
If a page behaves unexpectedly with your screen reader, magnifier, or voice control, tell us which page it was and what software you use. We will fix what we can, and provide you an alternative in the meantime.
Feedback and contact

We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within 5 business days.
Assessment approach
Aviva assessed the accessibility of aviva.org through an external evaluation by Uudly in July 2026, combining two independent automated testing engines, a browser-driven keyboard and mobile behavioral scan, and manual testing with keyboard-only navigation and the NVDA screen reader.
