Spotlight on Dana: February Employee of the Month

Dana has been an integral part of the Aviva team since December 2020, starting as a Graveyard Residential Assistant at Wallis House. In October 2024, she transitioned to the Lifting Youth Up Drop-In Center, where she has continued to make significant contributions to the community.

At LYU, Dana has taken the initiative to manage the Family Resource Closet, successfully reorganizing the space and ensuring it is restocked daily. Since its opening, the Family Resource Closet has distributed hundreds of items each month, showcasing Dana’s dedication to supporting those in need.

Dana has also built meaningful relationships with the youth at LYU, creating an environment of trust and openness. The youth appreciate her empathetic approach, feeling comfortable sharing their challenges and concerns with her. Dana’s engaging personality shines through as she brings a fun, energetic dynamic to the center. Whether dancing with the youth during music sessions or joining them in art classes to foster creativity, Dana’s involvement encourages personal expression and connection.

In addition to her role at LYU, Dana continues to support Wallis House by volunteering extra shifts on weekends and occasionally covering graveyard shifts, ensuring that the facility remains well-staffed. Now that’s the type of dedication and spirit that demonstrate the best of Aviva.

Looking ahead, Dana is embarking on an exciting new project this spring—a garden initiative at LYU, where she will work alongside the youth to cultivate a space that promotes growth, creativity, and community engagement let alone edible delights!

Dana’s dedication and positive impact are invaluable to Aviva, and we are grateful to have her on our team.
