Our annual Lifting Up LA Gala is a community-building celebration of the donors, volunteers, and sponsors who support Aviva. Proceeds from the evening directly benefit our programs and services, which provide safety, stability, and opportunity for children, youth, and families.
This year, Aviva Family & Children’s Services will honor Ivette Hurtado with the Transformation Award at the 2026 Lifting Up LA Gala in recognition of her inspiring journey and the impact she is making in the community.
Ivette Hurtado, MSW is a proud alumna of Aviva Family & Children’s Services, where she graduated from Aviva’s high school program after receiving a second chance to pursue her education. With the guidance and support of Aviva’s dedicated staff, she gained stability, developed life skills, and discovered her passion for helping others.
Inspired by that experience, Ivette earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California, specializing in adult mental health. Today, she works with the department of mental health, providing compassionate care to individuals from diverse and vulnerable communities—reflecting the resilience, opportunity, and hope that Aviva strives to create.
